COMPANY OVERVIEW:
The company is a leading multipurpose terminal operator managing port berths under a long-term concession with the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). It plays a critical role in facilitating Pakistans maritime trade by delivering efficient, reliable, and technology-driven terminal operations. With a strong focus on trade facilitation.
JOB PURPOSE
Contract Management
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure contracts are aligned with company policies, legal requirements, and project specifications.
- Monitor contract performance and manage amendments, renewals, or terminations as needed.
Import Procurement
- Manage the procurement of goods and services from international vendors in line with project and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, licensing, and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with clearing agents, logistics providers, and customs authorities for timely and smooth clearance of imported goods.
Local Procurement
- Manage the procurement of goods and services from local vendors in line with project and operational needs.
- Ensure with OMCs for the timely delivery of Diesel, Oil & Lubricants.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Legal, Technical, Operations) to align procurement activities with project requirements.
- Collaborate with banks for trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.
- Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, banks, and clearing agents.
People Management Responsibilities:
- Manage team dynamics, set clear goals, and align team efforts with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Ensure effective administration and discipline for self and team, including adherence to break schedules, attendance, overtime, leave policies, and dress code standards, where applicable.
- Monitor and manage the achievement of individual and team performance, ensuring accountability and consistent performance where applicable.
- Ensure continuous training and development opportunities for self and direct reports; mentor and assist junior staff as needed.
- Ensure Quality, Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance.
- Promote & maintain a culture of self and team motivation, engagement, and happiness.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals to drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure reliable supply and value creation.
- Lead initiatives for process improvement, automation, and standardization within the procurement function.
- Assist the lead of the concerned area in decision making by providing relevant information, data, and inputs.
Note: Additional / Other tasks and projects may be assigned as per requirement.
EDUCATION
- Min. 16 years of educational degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
- Supply Chain-related certification is a Plus
EXPERIENCE
- Preferably 5 Years or above Experience in handling Procurement & Supply Chain from a reputable organization.
