Job Description:
HRSI is looking for Kubernetes & Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer for one of its leading client in Pakistan.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate enterprise Rancher Kubernetes (RKE2) clusters (HA, multi‑node, production‑grade).
- Lead infrastructure architecture across compute, storage, networking, and security for Kubernetes platforms.
- Implement and operate Day‑2 operations: monitoring, patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and incident management.
- Design and integrate enterprise backup & DR solutions aligned with RPO/RTO requirements.
- Integrate Kubernetes platforms with VDI environments and enterprise identity/access controls.
- Define and enforce security controls, compliance baselines, and hardening standards.
- Collaborate with SLB central platform, application, and operations teams.
Mandatory Technical Skills (Must‑Have)
Kubernetes & Platform
- Rancher (Rancher Manager, RKE2 preferred)
- Kubernetes production operations (HA control plane, etcd, ingress, networking)
- Helm charts, GitOps (ArgoCD / Flux preferred)
- Day‑2 operations, upgrades, lifecycle management
Infrastructure & OS
- On‑prem infrastructure (x86 servers, VMware / bare metal)
- Linux (RHEL / Rocky / Ubuntu)
- Networking: VLANs, load balancers, firewalls, DNS
Storage
- Kubernetes storage concepts (PV, PVC, CSI)
- Object storage (MinIO – strongly preferred)
- Block & file storage (SAN/NAS, Ceph, vendor arrays)
- Storage sizing, performance, and resilience design
Backup & DR
- Kubernetes‑aware backup tools (Velero, vendor backup solutions)
- Snapshot policies, off‑cluster backups, restore validation
- DR architecture aligned to defined RPO / RTO
Security
- Kubernetes security hardening (RBAC, Pod Security, network policies)
- Secrets management
- CIS benchmarks / CNCF‑conformant Kubernetes
- Integration with enterprise IAM / AD
VDI & Enterprise Integration
- Experience integrating platforms with VDI environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise access models and user segmentation
Desirable / Value‑Add Skills
- Experience in oil & gas / regulated industries
- Exposure to NOC‑level environments (ADNOC, PDO, Aramco, etc.) preferred
- Hybrid cloud awareness (Azure / AWS integration)
- Observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- SRE practices and operating models
Experience Requirements
- 5–7+ years in infrastructure / platform engineering
- 3+ years operating production Kubernetes environments
- Proven experience supporting 24x7 operations and high‑availability platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work in multi‑vendor, matrixed enterprise teams
Engagement Model (for Subcontracting)
- Subcontractor / consultant model
- Expected team size: 2–3 senior resources
- Strong preference for hands‑on engineers, not advisory‑only profiles
- Able to work within SLB Central Services and Engineering organization
