The organization operates an extensive network of pharmacies across multiple cities, offering pharmaceutical products, healthcare services, and wellness solutions while maintaining high standards of quality, accessibility, and customer care.

Job Scope

The Manager – Procurement (Consumer Goods) is responsible for leading the procurement and category management of company's non-pharmaceutical portfolio, including FMCG, personal care, baby care, wellness, cosmetics, and general merchandise. The role is 80% procurement-focused and 20% supply chain-focused, driving category growth through strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, commercial negotiations, and Joint Business Planning (JBP), while ensuring product availability across the retail network.



Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Commercial

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned consumer goods categories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with FMCG companies, importers, distributors, and brand principals.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, trade margins, rebates, promotional funding, listing fees, shelf rentals, marketing support, and credit terms.
  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with strategic suppliers to achieve mutual growth objectives.
  • Prepare, monitor, and align supplier-wise sales targets and business plans.
  • Renegotiate supplier agreements to improve front-end and back-end margins.
  • Plan and execute monthly promotional campaigns and annual sales gala activities with suppliers.
  • Drive pricing, merchandising, and assortment strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Develop new product categories, identify market trends, and introduce innovative brands and products.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure commercial commitments are achieved.

Supply Chain (20%)

Support inventory health by managing slow-moving inventory and minimizing ageing stock.
  • Ensure product availability across warehouses and retail stores through effective purchase planning.
  • Optimize inventory levels and stock days while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory.
  • Improve availability of high-selling articles through effective replenishment and supplier coordination.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Warehouse, and Retail Operations to ensure timely product availability.

Education

  • MBA/Bachelor's in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.

Experience

  • 6–10 years of procurement or category management experience in FMCG, retail, consumer goods, pharmacy retail, or modern trade.
