Job Description:

HRSI is looking for Production Engineer for one of its leading client.

Key Responsibilities

1. Integrated Well Analysis & Modelling:

  • Conduct detailed production analyses of candidate wells.
  • Perform wellbore modelling using PROSPER to evaluate fluid behaviour, pressure losses, and flow performance.
  • Develop and analyse network models using GAP to assess system constraints, backpressure effects, and well interdependencies.

2. Production Optimization:

  • Evaluate existing well completions and recommend choke size optimization for improved flow efficiency.
  • Analyse and optimize flowline configurations to reduce pressure losses and enhance productivity.
  • Propose alternative completion strategies tailored to specific well conditions.

3. Water Management in Gas Wells:

  • Develop and implement de-liquidation strategies for gas wells with high water cut to sustain and enhance gas production.

4. Water Shut-Off & Intervention Strategies:

  • Identify water production sources using PLT and well log data.
  • Recommend suitable shut-off techniques, including mechanical and chemical solutions, based on well diagnostics and available technologies.

5. Stimulation & Treatment Optimization:

  • Review historical stimulation activities and validate proposed acid treatment designs.
  • Recommend advanced stimulation techniques aligned with reservoir characteristics and global best practices.

6. Well Intervention Planning:

  • Design and execute cost-effective rigless intervention programs to minimize downtime.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure successful execution under varying field conditions.

7. Workover Program Development:

  • Prepare detailed workover programs, including equipment selection and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Plan completion and testing programs for re-entry and complex wells.

8. Artificial Lift System (ALS) Optimization:

  • Evaluate and optimize existing ALS systems (ESP, Rod Lift, PCP, Jet Pump, Gas Lift, etc.).
  • Improve operational efficiency, reduce power consumption, and enhance production stability.
  • Recommend appropriate lift systems for low-producing wells to maximize recovery.

9. Well Chemistry & Flow Assurance:

  • Identify and optimize chemical treatments for stimulation, de-liquidation, and condensate management.
  • Ensure compatibility of chemical solutions with reservoir and wellbore conditions.
  • Collaborate with local and international vendors to source effective chemical technologies.

10. Field Execution & Supervision:

  • Provide technical oversight during rigless interventions and rig-based workovers.
  • Ensure execution aligns with approved strategies and monitor performance metrics.
  • Continuously refine processes based on field results and operational feedback.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15+ years of experience in Production / Petroleum Engineering within upstream oil & gas operations.
  • Proven experience managing multi-asset or brownfield mature assets, including depleted, shut-in, and high water cut wells.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in:
    • Artificial Lift Systems design and evaluation (ESP, Gas Lift, Rod Pump, PCP, Jet Pump)
    • Well interventions (rig and rigless operations)
    • Production optimization and surveillance
  • Exposure to international operations (Middle East, North America, Africa, or Asia) and working with multinational teams and service providers is preferred.
  • Experience in production forecasting and field development planning is an advantage.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Professional affiliations/certifications (preferred):
    • Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)
    • PMP or equivalent project management certification (advantage)
    • IWCF / Well Control certification (advantage)

Technical Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex production systems.
    • Able to present complex technical concepts to management and non-technical stakeholders.

Other Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
