Position: Manager Operations

Location: Port Qasim, Karachi (requires travelling)

Reports to: CEO

Team Size: 10 direct reports & 50 indirect reports

Purpose: The Operations Manager is responsible for leading terminal operations, including Terminal Operations, CCR, and Q&Q functions, to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, transfer, and dispatch of petroleum products. The role drives operational excellence, inventory integrity, resource optimization, customer service, and continuous improvement while ensuring adherence to HSSEQ and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall terminal operations including receipt, storage, transfer, and dispatch of petroleum products.
  • Supervise Terminal Operations, CCR (Control Room), and Q&Q (Inventory Control) functions.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted terminal operations in compliance with HSSEQ standards.
  • Oversee operational planning for vessels, pipelines, tank farm, and truck loading/unloading activities.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, custody transfer, and product reconciliation (gain/loss control).
  • Monitor CCR operations for real-time control, automation systems, and operational integrity.
  • Coordinate with customers, surveyors, customs, pipeline operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company procedures, and audit standards.
  • Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and resource optimization across the terminal.
  • Manage and develop operational teams, ensuring training, performance, and competency development.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Projects for asset reliability and operational readiness.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Profile Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial / Petroleum) or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 10–15 years of experience in terminal operations, oil & gas storage facilities, or bulk liquid handling environments with experience in leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of terminal operations including tank farm, vessel discharge, pipeline transfers, and truck loading/unloading.
  • Sound knowledge of HSSEQ standards, risk management, and emergency response.
  • Strong stakeholder management with customers, regulators, surveyors, and third parties
  • Strong leadership & team management capabilities
